Description
The Ram National Elk Refuge | Jackson, Wyoming
He was moving with purpose. This ram had somewhere to be, namely the bluffs on the other side of the road, and the rest of the group was following his lead. When he paused, everyone paused. That’s how it works with bighorn sheep.
Where The Lookout asked for distance, this one demanded the opposite. The RF 200-800mm closed the gap entirely, and what filled the frame was the full weight of the animal — the winter coat shedding in thick, ragged patches, the deep curl of horn above the eye, the expression of something that has navigated this terrain every day of its life and finds nothing remarkable about it.
The eye is what holds it. Amber, calm, and pointed somewhere beyond the frame — already thinking about the next ridge.
This bighorn ram print is a companion piece to The Lookout, taken in the same session on the same stretch of the National Elk Refuge. Together they show two sides of the same animal and the same landscape; one at a distance, one as close as the moment allowed.
Available as a fine art archival paper print or aluminum metal print. Sizes: 8×12 | 16×24 | 24×36 Ships within five business days.
